THE RETURN BIN
SUPERNATURAL MYSTERY / HORROR | FEATURE | 100 MIN
BE KIND. REWIND.
LOGLINE
In the fall of 1992, movie-obsessed video-store clerk Jimmy Wolf discovers an unlabeled VHS tape in the overnight return bin at his family’s small-town Pennsylvania video store. It contains footage of an event nobody in town remembers. Then another tape appears. When one recording reveals Jimmy’s supposedly dead father alive years after his disappearance, Jimmy and his friends begin digging into a forgotten night someone—or something—has spent fourteen years keeping buried.
THE STORY
It’s 1992 in Gobblers Knob, Pennsylvania, and Wolfey’s Video is Jimmy Wolf’s entire universe: movie library, neighborhood clubhouse and the place he has essentially grown up. Jimmy can tell you everything about a movie and considerably less about his own life. Then a gray VHS with no label, barcode or explanation appears in the overnight return bin. What plays on it shouldn’t exist—and Jimmy, his sharp-eyed best friend Kristi and their gloriously unqualified friends Chuck and Mikey start looking for answers.
More tapes arrive, each preserving something the town seems to have forgotten. Old newspapers, rental records, microfilm and half-buried memories begin pointing toward one night fourteen years earlier—and toward the father Jimmy was told died long ago. As the mystery moves closer to Wolfey’s, Jimmy realizes the people he trusts may know more than they have ever told him. Across town, a shiny new Blockbuster prepares to open while Jimmy becomes obsessed with something far more dangerous than saving the family store: finishing a story that may have been buried for a reason.
EVERY TOWN HAS

Some of them come back.
