LOGLINE
When Chloe joins her boyfriend Miles on his annual getaway with his closest college friends and their wives, she expects a weekend of wine, old stories and private-club excess. Their status-obsessed friend Chad has scored access to a secluded, invitation-only vineyard in the Sierra foothills, a place with no public tasting room and no apparent reason to want them there. But once the gates close, Chloe discovers the ancient Romanian vines are connected to her own bloodline, and the invitation was meant for her all along. As the vineyard turns the group’s buried resentments against them, Chloe must survive a blood ritual designed not to kill her — but to reclaim the heir who got away.
THE STORY
Every year, Miles reunites with the same college friends for expensive food, great wine, old jokes and the comfortable cruelty of people who know exactly where to hurt one another. Chloe is the outsider, entering a web of marriages, rivalries and betrayals that existed long before she arrived. Chad lives for exclusivity, so when he secures access to a mysterious private vineyard, he treats the weekend as proof that he can still open doors nobody else can. What he doesn’t know is that the vineyard opened its doors for Chloe.
The estate’s Romanian vines belong to a ritual lineage Chloe’s family abandoned generations ago, and her arrival completes a cycle waiting to begin again. Old betrayals surface, marriages crack, doors lock, the cellar becomes a maze and the vines begin separating the guests according to the grudges and desires most likely to destroy them. As Miles realizes Chad’s obsession with access has delivered them into a ritual they were never meant to survive, Chloe discovers the terrifying truth: the vineyard isn’t trying to kill her — it’s trying to restore her. To escape, she must choose between the life she built for herself and the inheritance that has been waiting in her blood.
